Pet Tales Day – Saturday August 13

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011

PetTalesDay-Flyer-Head

To Thank You for All Your Good Work

Please join the Barkyard for PET TALES DAY, an event honoring Anne Neville (Buffalo News Pet Tales columnist) and encouraging pet adoption.  We are inviting all local rescue groups to participate in this public awareness opportunity.  Pets of all kinds are also welcome!  Organizations may set up their tables, tents, etc, inside or outside the Barkyard, understanding that only spayed/neutered dogs can be inside.

We are also inviting food vendors, including Lloyd’s Taco Truck and James the Ice Cream Cycle Guy.

While this is not specifically a fundraising event, organizations are welcome to accept donations, distribute flyers, recruit volunteers, and raise interest in their own fundraising events.  You and your group do good work for animals and pet adoptions.  Please help us get the word out!  Post this on your websites and Facebook pages.

For more information, please contact the Barkyard at info@thebarkyard.org or call (716) 281-0303

  • Location:  The Barkyard (in LaSalle Park, Buffalo, NY)
  • Date:  Saturday, August 13, 2011
  • Time:  10 am – 1 pm

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Winner of Best Community Float

Friday, April 9th, 2010

ParadeWinner

The decision to enter the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and create a float was all done within a week. Needless to say, we were very excited to hear that our entry was selected by the Parade Committee as the Best Community Parade Float! The Barkyard would like to thank the sponsor of the Parade, the United Irish American Association, as well as the trophy sponsors. The Bishop Timon Trophy, awarded in memory of Catherine M. O’Brien, was sponsored by the Friends of Mark Schroeder. Unfortunately, the dogs couldn’t be with us to accept the beautiful trophy, but it will be on display at the Ellicott Small Animal Hospital for all to sniff and see!

April Stools Day

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

The Barkyard hasn’t learned to clean up after itself and it could use a bath (so to speak). We’re looking for some friendly, energetic and not-so-easily-offended volunteers to help with a little spring cleaning.

Join us at The Barkyard at LaSalle Park, bring some plastic bags, your scooper or shovel, and help us maintain a safe and enjoyable place for dogs and humans alike.

Your kindness will be rewarded with sloppy kisses, wet noses, and maybe even some coffee and donuts!
